Week 21 The 5 Second Rule

The thegymking on MKE site posted this video link.    It is worth a watch.

Yesterday I learned about the 5 Second Rule.  I was asked about a blog post about it, but I did not Know enough to really formula a firm perception of the technique.

I practiced it yesterday.  Mel Robbins says that THE counting backward process interrupts the sub process and hesitation factor that ALL humans do immediately with any thought and pushes thought to the frontal cortex where you take action.

According to Robbin’s, The key is interrupting the old to replace with a new response-immediate action without hesitation–GERONIMO.   I will keep practicing this really easy and simple techique and let you know what I notice in the future.

I found when I immediately counted backward 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 in the second I would have hesitated, that inserting backward count,  I would then follow through with the action of standing up.  I was already on my feet so I just did it.  I was already moving to Do It Now.

If it happens enough I can see how the auto response will reprogram to become Do It Now.  Such a simple, small technique to have such an immediate impact and with less thought and effort.

I really enjoy hearing Mel talk about the science behind this.   Check the videos.  Her book release Feb 28th, The 5 Second Rule.   Her first book already out is Stop Saying You’re Fine: Discover a More Powerful You.

I just rewatched the TEDtalk.  The 5 Second Rule is about taking any action that will marry the idea you have with action so you will continue to act on it instead of dismissing it or never getting back to it.  It makes sense.  This jewel comes at the end of the talk.

WEEK 20 Shadow Me

~Charles Hannel: Lesson 20: 9-11

9. But perception will come only in the Silence; this seems to be the condition required for all great purposes. You are a visualizing entity. Imagination is your workshop. It is here that your ideal is to be visualized.

10.  As a perfect understanding of the nature of this power is a primary condition for its manifestation, visualize the entire method over and over again, so that you may use it whenever occasion requires. The infinity of wisdom is to follow the method whereby we may have the inspiration of the omnipotent Universal Mind on demand at any time.

11. We can fail to recognize this world within, and so exclude it from our
consciousness, but it will still be the basic fact of all existence;  and when we learn to recognize it, not only in ourselves but in all persons, events, things and
circumstances we shall have found the “Kingdom of heaven” which we are told  is “within” us.

This week I have had trouble concentrating and staying focus as I work on transmuting fear, anger, sadness, guilt e.g. emotion into a tool I can use.  Trouble focusing on anything really.   I have had trouble going to sleep and staying asleep.  And when I do sleep I have restless, shadowy or spooky dreams or sleep only one or two hours and then I’m up.  I recognize this is my “subby” communicating with me or avoiding it.  I cannot decide.

I have also felt sluggish and at times not well.  I have decided to put more concentration into my Sit or maybe Sits.  Something is going on, on the inside, and I need to take the plunge into the depth of “psyche” and find the bliss of wholeness, harmony, and power.

Written by Juneta Key 02162017

Note:  This is a rough 1st draft of a prose I’m working on and decided to share it in its rough form.  I need to put more thought into the “word images” I want to convey, so this may change from the original concept.

In the silence of my world within.

My Shadow waits.

As I stroll the gardens and beaches of my mind’s eye alone.

The Shadow waits.

In the meadow fields surrounded by majestic mountains, I embrace “elan vital” dancing with sunshine’s light or cool misty heaven’s rain.

And the Shadow waits.

Nature’s music calls and sings to me.  I rejoice.  I play in the redwoods of my mind, climbing, swinging, exploring, and jumping, searching…

The Shadow waits.

At the sea, I build sandcastle’s, stroll along the waters edge, splash and ride the waves in joy, or lay peacefully in the hammock suspended in the palms trees as the ocean’s lullaby soothes my soul.

Yet the Shadow waits.

Night falls, I dance under the starry domed sky lit by the huge moon smiling down on my world.  I reach.  My face turned to the heavens.  Arms in the air above my head I shout with delight twirling, twirling,  twirling remembering joy is life.

The Shadow moves freely and invisibly through the night.  The ground shakes.  Storm clouds hover overhead blocking the moonlight.  The lonely howl of a wounded creature permeates the air that weighs like cotton on my skin.

I’m not alone.  I turn just as the moon peek’s out to light my way.  I’m face to face with the Shadow.  Dark tears glisten as diamonds sliding down smokey cheeks.

I lift my hand to offer comfort.  Shadow mimics me. My hand floats though smoke but shadows hand gently caresses my cheek.

Hand against hand, in mirrored synchronicity…

We start to dance. We weave.  We twirl, we spin in fluid grace.  It’s a dance of wonder and discovery.   Shadow Me.

This is one of my favorite Lindsey Stirling songs, Shadows.

How To Lead an Intentional Life: Creator of The Bullet Journal:

Productive Tool The Bullet Journal

I love journals, but not all are useful.  I use them for a time and then forget about them.  They don’t suit my daily routines in the long-term.  I love the bullet journal concept because I tailor around my daily, weekly, monthly even yearly needs using it for many things e.g. project planning or creating a collection of words or inventorying my Star Wars collection, making lists, scheduling my day.

Since any journal works, I can go back and use those old discarded journals now that I understand how it works.   That saved me some money because I have several discarded journals.  The Bullet Journal is a system for allowing you to be productive in work or organizing your thoughts and life.  I tend to make my journal an all-inclusive, instead of a single journal for each need.

Productive Tool The Bullet JournalNOTE: You can use any kind of journal even a spiral notebook for a bullet journal.  I use a 9×12 spiral sketch pad for mine.  I get mine from Amazon.

I have a small ruler and protractor for creating.  I use color pens, pencils, and sometimes pre-made stencils to trace.

I use my bullet journal for everything.  Planning, Scheduling, Brain Storming, Mind Mapping, Doodling, Notes, Lists, Calendars or writing flash fiction or whatever else I think of doing.

I don’t do the monthly calendar but I do make a weekly one and use a per day page calendar for my day planning and scheduling.  The space within the monthly calendar creates limits, plus, creating a monthly layout takes more time.   The bullet journal gives me a more creative way to break down my plans and schedules, encourages deep thought in the process without having to worry about space in a little square. I bought a pre-made Weekly/Monthly planner created by Blue Sky for basic calendar use in a 5×7 handy size for quick referral.

If we stand in any large city and let the eye rest on the innumerable large and magnificent buildings, the vast array of conveniences of modern civilization, we may remember that not one of them was there just over a century ago, and if we could stand on the same spot in a hundred years from now, in all probability we should find that but few of them remained.

  • ACHIEVE, Succeed  ~ The reward is in the journey.  Everything else is just icing on the cake!

THEN BEGIN AGAIN!  Something new or journey the same path become the expert and/or teacher.  (Specialized Skill)

We all stumble.  We all at some point half-ass it.  Lack complete understanding, miss the point or parts of it or drop the ball.  That’s okay, we’re human.  Begin again or just pick up where you left off and continue forward.  You have only one life to live. Live the life you want the best way you can. Live it your way because at the end of the day or life it’s you that stands alone in the departure. You hold the responsibility whether you own up to it or not- come what may.  Take the driver’s seat now while the opportunity of choice still lives even IF it is only in the way you think or feel.  Change begins within.  We are all heading the same direction and there are an infinite number of paths to get there. Pick One!

This statement below makes me smile.  It encapsulates the negative turning it to the positive in truth and allowing the freedom to just be.

Week 18-a Awareness, Attention And Practice

Is what you believe about yourself the harness that holds you back or the empowering magic that sets you free?

Limiting Beliefs Are A Prison.  Break free and embrace the power that is you.  Create the reality you want to live by tearing down the walls of beliefs you have accepted about yourself without even realizing what you are doing because perception is everything.  Perception put to action is our reality.  Cause and effect.  Change your cause by changing your mind.

The example of the baby elephant in the book below was very powerful for me.

A book of practical principals that change and shape your life if you decide to take away the rope of limiting beliefs.

The Magic Of Changing Your Thinking! (Full Book) ~ Law Of Attraction

~Hannel 18: 29,30,31

29. Power depends upon consciousness of power; unless we use it, we shall lose it, and unless we are conscious of it, we cannot use it.

30. The use of this power depends upon attention; the degree of attention determines our capacity for the acquirement of knowledge which is another name for power.

31. Attention has been held to be the distinguishing mark of genius. The cultivation of attention depends upon practice.

Week 18 Your Inner Self-Talk Shapes Your Reality

Self-Talk Creates Reality Neville Goddard

This lecture by Neville Goddard has some wonderful examples of how we talk to ourselves and how that self-talk reflects in our daily lives.  How easy it is not to even recognize what you are doing because we all talk to ourselves constantly it is a natural function of beings.   Without the religious content this talk would still apply and possesses great wisdom for the common man in the same way the greats e.g. Socrates shared wisdom of the ages with his time that still applies today.

Do you argue with yourself or other people in your mind before it happens in reality?  I know I do especially when I am frustrated about something going on in my life that involves other people.  It was that example of daily living in the here and now in the lecture that hit home with me.   The next lecture is called How To Use Your Imagination.

I have often heard “change your mind change your life.”  It follows change your thoughts (inner talk) and transform your life.

~Hannel 18: 17

17. The only belief which is of any value to anyone is a belief that has been put to a test and demonstrated to be a fact; it is then no longer a belief, but has become a living Faith or Truth.

Week 17H The Power of Thought

I give myself permission to be happy, wealthy, successful and productive.

“I will persist until I succeed.” Og Mandino

I am a writer.  I shape my life one step at a time with persistence.   I am the thespian of my life and with this vocation I laser focus my thoughts as the creator of my reality.

It is through my personal development as a human being I learn to create characters that connect with each other and my readers.   I learn to understand myself so I can learn to understand others.

As a writer, I am a business entrepreneur and the master of my destiny. There are many roads to success, and like the ant, I will try every one until I forge the path that connects me with my destination.  I give myself permission to be happy, successful, earn lots of money, and share my vision with the world giving back all that I gain.

My thoughts create the magic of my life.

I am powerful.  I am a drop of water in the universal ocean of life.  I am in the flow and I feel it. ~Said to me by my brilliant friend Ellen Miller

  ~Hannel 17: 8-9

8. Concentration is much misunderstood; there seems to be an idea of effort or activity associated with it, when just the contrary is necessary. The greatness of an actor lies in the fact that he forgets himself in the portrayal of his character, becoming so identified with it, that the audience is swayed by the realism of the performance. This will give you a good idea of true concentration; you should be so interested in your thought, so engrossed in your subject, as to be conscious of nothing else. Such concentration leads to intuitive perception and immediate insight
into the nature of the object concentrated upon.

7. All knowledge is the result of concentration of this kind; it is thus that the secrets of Heaven and Earth have been wrested; it is thus that the mind becomes a magnet and the desire to know draws the knowledge, irresistibly attracts it, makes it your own.

The Blogosphere is doing it again. EATING MY COMMENTS. I’m not Ignoring YOU

Comment Problems:  The Blogosphere is doing it again.  EATING MY COMMENTS.  I have signed on with google+, WordPress and Twitter, comments still eaten.  Some with FB sign on let me comment but not all.    It’s crazy.

So Please don’t think I’m ignoring you on purpose

I wrote about this before.

Why does this always happen when I am participating in a blogging event when I really need it to work?  When I am just visiting things seem to work.

Last time I found a way around it, but my way around is not working this time.  It works on some blogs but not all.  I am beginning to think it is program conflict problems or updates causing interference and conflict since it does not always last.   GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

I really hope it goes away soon.  I will look to see if any updates and solutions added reference this continuing problem.

The kicker is that Blogs I comment all the time are eating my comments.  I have not clue what is going on because I have not changed anything.  Maintenance tweaks have changed nothing.

This is really aggravating, time-consuming trying to find a solution.  It is ridiculous this has gone on so long.  I found posts to WP on their support site a couple of years old about this very issue.

Even though it happens on Blogger, I think the glitch is a WP issue, possibly updates to themes and/or WP itself.

I am ME and that’s unique.

Haanel Part 17: 34-36
34 – If you wish to eliminate fear, concentrate on courage.
35 – If you wish to eliminate lack, concentrate on abundance.
36 – If you wish to eliminate disease, concentrate on health

The first 4 questions at the end of the reading of Part 17, I thought powerful, applicable, and a truth to common reason.

  • What is the true method of concentration?  To become so identified with the object of your thought that you are conscious of nothing else.
  • What is the result of this method of concentration?  Invisible forces are set in motion which irresistibly bring about conditions in correspondence with your thought.
  • What is the controlling factor in this method of thought?  Spiritual Truth.
  • Why is this so?  Because the nature of our desire must be in harmony with the Natural Law.

The wealth of my life overflows giving to me the power of perception, the wisdom of the ages, honing my intuition and building sagacity into my character.

I give myself permission to live abundantly in all areas, fully and in joy.  Grow in wealth, hope, and confidence sharing the gifts with those I meet throughout my journey.  I give myself permission to dance in joy, live in grace and operate in love.

“I am nature’s greatest miracle.”  (Og Mandino)

This is a song about Life, Love, and Hope.  The presentation amuses me.  Change is a kind of death.  Death to the old to make room for the new.

The more I read Haanel the more I see the reflections of the spiritual truth I was taught as I a child, and like that child, I flow into them without resistance.

Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV)

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. Against such things, there is no law.

1 Corinthians 13: 4-7 & 13

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hope, always perseveres.

13 And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.

“I will persist until I succeed.” (Og Mandino)
